The Big Three:

Corn
A great choice for most animals corn offers high yields and great versatility.  Typically planted in April this crop offers foliage and hard grain for animals to browse as well comfort in its cover.  Corn must be planted using a standard drill so be sure the land is prepared properly with a disc and harrow.

Soybeans

Beans are planted between May and June and offer both protein rich beans and leafy foliage for browse. The beans develope in September with the leaves falling off exposing the pods in October and November.  Soybeans may be planted for deer to browse foliage early in the season and eat the beans in mid-winter
.


Clover
Many varietes of clover exist including red, white, ladino, crimson and arrowleaf.  Clover typically can be planted in the spring or the fall.  Clover is a great browse foliage for wildlife including deer.
