Proper placement is critical for success. Ideal locations would be trail intersections that are near water or warm season forage such as food plots or soybean fields. Late winter is the ideal time to begin a mineral site.

Simply put, our Premium Mineral Supplement is what horns are made of. Just the right amount of attractant is included to keep them coming for more. This mix is packed full of bone building minerals, vitamins, and electrolytes in the proper ratios needed for maximum antler growth. This is best applied in late winter until mid-spring, but may be applied any time of year.

The "BUCK-IT" D I Y Mineral Concentrate
This product has revolutionized the effectiveness of the homemade mineral mix. This deer mineral concentrate is much better balanced for deer than the commonly used dical.
Finally, a product for the deer manager that enjoys the cost savings of producing their own mineral mix, but is unhappy with the shortcomings of a livestock supplement (dicalcium phosphate) as a deer supplement. This product offers an undiluted 24% calcium, 12% phosphorus, and 1% magnesium, and a full course of vitamins to keep your deer herd in optimum condition. This is the proper ratio of calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, and vitamins recommended by professional deer managers for maximizing the potential of your deer herd.
Simply add the amount of salt needed to get your deer to consume them. Typically this is between 30-60%, but varies from herd to herd.
We recommend mixing 20 lbs of this mineral concentrate with a half bag of loose trace mineral salt in late winter. Refresh the site with the remaining salt around early summer. The salt leaches out of the soil far faster than the calcium and phosphorus. This provides you with the most complete, economical mineral site available.
Our Buck-It Site Topper can be used in place of salt. It has vitamins included to aid with absorption of the minerals, and the site topper also has additional ingredients added for superior attraction.
Calcium and phosphorus ratios in the commonly used Dical are far from optimum for whitetail deer. Dical also contains no vitamins, meaning that any calcium and phosphorus that is consumed at a mineral site maintained with dical will not be absorbed.
